The Virtual PSO concept developed as a direct result of the project management experiences of Epsilica Consulting's founders, Mitul Thobhani and Mike Beardshall . In their roles as business consultants, Mitul and Mike were regularly faced with detangling project failures that resulted from gaps in the Management Information reports. They recognised the mounting problems that arose from flaws in their client companies’ reporting processes. At the root of the problem was either a lack of a PSO or overloaded PSOs with a heavy burden of administrative tasks that detracted from their primary reporting functions.
